Some *ho-humm* NEW Updates…
August 21st, 2011 | Forum Discussion

Yeah, slow news once again.

Well, to start to things off: the International Pokémon Global Link has a new C-Gear Skin up for grabs (again). This time, it’s the Croagunk skin. So, if you are one of those few PokéFans who love Poison-type Pokémon, and IF YOU ARE RESIDING IN THE UNITED STATES, then spice up your C-Gears now! *yawn*

The password is: “NPCGEAR” without the double-quotes. Useless. We’ll let you in on the mechanics on how to obtain this as soon as this skin is available outside of US.

On the brighter side, we’re just a few months away from Pokémon Rumble Blast, the sequel to the successful WiiWare game Pokémon Rumble. This would be the first Pokémon game to be launched exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. Mark your calendars now, as this game will arrive here in the Philippines after its international release on October 24 *yawn*!

Pikachu, along with the 5th Gen Pokémon, as they appear in the newest Pokémon Game -- Pokémon Rumble Blast for the 3DS

Here’s the trailer for those of you who are interested:

And speaking of Nintendo 3DS, DataBlitz has cut down their selling price from P13,500.00 to P10,500.00 (less P500.00 if you will purchase it in cash). Although that’s not the price that we are expecting, nonetheless, it is still a pretty nifty offer (at the cost of being a 3DS Ambassador, of course).

Also, DataBlitz is now selling 3DS Prepaid Cards for those of you who don’t have credit cards but still want to download stuffs from the Nintendo eShop. You can purchase a $20.00 card for P1,200.00. Ugh (That’s more or less 4 eShop games). Credits to klim28 for this update.

Iris to catch Meowth; Meowth gone on Team Rocket for good?!
August 11th, 2011 | Forum Discussion

In the preview of the 45th episode of the Best Wishes series, it is said that Meowth was fired from Team Rocket by Jessie and James. Meowth is then found by Ash, Iris, and Cilan telling them that he is fired by his companions. Meowth then seems to “negotiate” Scrafty, afterwards then, Iris seems to be talking to Meowth first before suddenly trying to catch it with the Poke Ball which made Ash, Pikachu, Cilan, and Meowth shocked, but it wasn’t showed in the preview if Iris really caught Meowth.

Below is the video, just skip to 1:16 for the Meowth episode preview.

Well there are many possibilities:
* Iris may fail to catch Meowth as it manage to escape from the Poke Ball.
* Meowth may just be pretending, confirming that this was only part of a big plan which will finally lead to the TR vs. TP episodes.
* Iris may have successfully caught Meowth, but will later release it after few episodes.
* Iris successfully caught Meowth and will join in their adventures and finally leaving Team Rocket for good.

But one evidence that may prove that Meowth will be really joining in Ash’s adventures is the one of the upcoming September episodes of the Best Wishes series entitled “Negotiator Meowth! Break Through the Forest of Beartic!!” which will be shown 2 episodes after the Meowth episode, indicating that Iris have successfully caught Meowth and continuing his “negotiator” duties after doing it on Scrafty.

Whatever it is, we will finally know the answer when the Meowth episode will premiere on August 18, 2011. If Meowth is indeed caught by Iris and leaving Team Rocket for good, this will make a big change to the plot of the anime and history-in-the-making as well since finally, after their adventures on Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Kanto (Battle Frontier), Sinnoh, and some parts of Unova, Meowth will finally be leaving Jessie, James, and Team Rocket.

Pokemon TCG World Championships 2011: Decks for Thought- Magnezone/Yanmega
August 8th, 2011 | Forum Discussion

It’s been a long time since I haven’t written anything here and it’s also been awhile since I last played TCG but after a month or two of playing again, I’ve returned to the competitive scene and now to provide you guys with some basic knowledge about the most popular decks that are known to appear in World Championships.

First of all, decks are separated into different “tiers” by the fandom. Tiers in Pokemon originated from the Smogon Community who divide the Pokemon in the video games in “Tiers” based on playability and impact on the game. Pokemon TCG also has this feature now.  This will be a series of articles (hopefully) featuring some of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 decks. First up will be Magnezone/Yanmega or MegaJudge.

Strategy: This deck went very under the radar until it made a good showing at Canadian Nationals 2011. The deck primarily features Yanmega Prime who uses it’s Pokebody Insight to get a zero attack cost on all of its attacks as long as you and your opponent have the same number of cards in hand. Yanmega Prime should be up by Turn 2 or Turn 3 to snipe baby Pokemon like Cleffa or Tyrouge. It can also get cheap kills by using Pokemon Reversal and dragging up their 70HP or less Basic Pokemon and knock them out using Sonicboom. Magnezone is your late game attacker by using Lost Burn who can hit for almost an infinite number of damage as long as he has the energy to burn. Pachirisu is here to give an extra energy acceleration to power up Magnezone. Cleffa and Manaphy are also here to provide much needed hand refresh early on. This deck is not hard to use but requires precise calculations as to how to match hand sizes when not using Copycat or Judge. Judge also plays a good role with Magnezone’s Poke Power Magnetic Draw which allows you to draw until 6 so you keep your opponent disrupted while you keep yourself drawing cards from the deck.
