Although not like what we had expected, the new Pokémon game that’s been announced is PokéPark 2 Beyond the World. It is the sequel to PokéPark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure. It will be released on Winter 2011 in Japan and is due for release on the Nintendo Wii. It features a four-player multiplayer.

Some details have been confirmed regarding the Mewtwo event on Coro Coro. It is said to have the ability Pressure, and is said to be distributed on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to Japanese copies of Pokémon Black and White from September 26th, 2011 to October 31st, 2011.

It is interesting to note that the Coro Coro scan acknowledges the fact that Mewtwo can be caught on Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. We all know that Mewtwo can be caught on HGSS and we can always transfer it to BW so it isn’t really rare at all, and yet they will still release an event Mewtwo and even acknowledge it’s availability on HGSS. This means that there is something special about this Mewtwo aside from its moves, like having the possibility of unlocking an event on a future main Pokémon game.

We still have the Pokémon Smash episode coming on Sunday, which Junichi Masuda, the director of Game Freak, makers of main Pokémon games, will make an appearance on the said show regarding the Mewtwo event. Since they already revealed that there will be a Mewtwo event, and yet they still have a cardboard covered in a question mark, it is likely that Masuda will reveal some details regarding the Mewtwo event that wasn’t mentioned on Coro Coro, such as its moves and a possible hint at something special in the future. On the preview for Pokémon Smash (formerly Pokémon Sunday)’s episode next week on September 18, 2011, Junichi Masuda appears on the show and is to reveal something new regarding the main series Pokémon games that is still covered on a question mark for now. What will it be? Could it be the new Pokémon games, possibly the third version of Pokémon Black and White or the remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire? Or could it only be an event legendary Pokémon, most probably Keldeo? It could be anything, since let’s not forget that Tsunekazu Ishihara confirmed recently on Famitsu that there will be other Pokémon games on the way besides the Pokémon games that are already released this year. There’s a high possibility that this (or these) will be revealed on the October 2011 issue of Coro Coro which should leak anytime now.

Aside from that, Pokémon Smash also reveals that Mewtwo will be distributed through an event soon. It’s details will be revealed next week also, but let’s hope that the “big announcement” will not be related to Mewtwo and that they will be two different announcements. Why will Mewtwo be distributed? Does Mewtwo had an relation with Kyurem just like in the latest TCG? Does it activate an event on the future games? Again, this is also likely to be revealed on the October 2011 issue of Coro Coro.

EDIT on September 11, 2011 @ 6:40 PM: Earlier, people have speculated that the big announcement will be the Mewtwo distribution instead of the new game. However, Serebii Joe’s friend translated the description of Pokémon Smash’s upcoming episode:
“Sentence about Masuda coming!! Could he be giving everyone the strong pokemon Shokotan asked for, as a present!?

Don’t miss the latest game report/news, and Prof Red’s unlucky battle!!”
So this confirms that the Mewtwo thing and the new game thing are separate. Remember again, the October 2011 issue of Coro Coro should leak anytime now and Nintendo’s special 3DS conference will be held this coming Tuesday morning which may confirm the new game or games. Seems like the only updates that we have been receiving recently are the New C-Gear skins for our Pokémon Black and White carts. What a bummer… Let’s just hope that this is just the “calm before the storm” (I am referring to the international release date of Pokémon Rumble Blast for the 3DS).
