Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 releases on June 23 in Japan! Don’t miss it!!

Personally, I don’t have any idea on what PokeWood really means until the information about the Mecha Tyranitar and Homika’s father trying to become an actor. PokeWood = Hollywood for Pokemon.

The new professor is currently known as Professor Burnett. She’s there, the lady with goggles. She somewhat resembles Ruby…

The three new forms of the Cloud Trio reveals some stat changes and are called “Sacred Beasts Forme”. Their original formes are called Incantation forms. There will be no type changes.

Tornadus with higher Defenses and Speed, Thundurus with higher Special Attack and Landorus with a boost in Attack.

Cheren and Bianca returns with changes as the former became the Normal type Gym Leader replacing Leonora and the third new GL to be announced and fourth to be confirmed alongside Homika, Shizui and Brycen while the latter gives you your starter Pokemon.

CoroCoro also showed that the World Tournament rumored to be led by Cynthia allows every trainer to battle previous Gym Leaders like Green, Volker, Misty and the like.

If you are happily living in Japan then don’t you guys forget about the Pokemon movie event where you can obtain Meloetta @ level 15!

In the anime section: Cynthia and Dawn will return, marking the start of the new season on 21 June 2012.
As you can see below, there are new EX cards based on Black and White Kyurem!

There will be an increase in the number of old Pokemon as what the previous updates has shown (Homika with a Koffing).

The latest Coro-Coro leak revealed new alternate formes for the legendary Kami trio: Tornadus, Landorus and Thundurus (looks kinda ridiculous, especially Landorus’s, if you will ask me). It is currently unknown if they will sport new types or abilities, so we will just have to wait for more information.

And this one might be a little bit late, but a special Darkrai is now available for download at the Nintendo Wi-Fi Club via the Mystery Gift. This Level 50 Darkrai will come with a Classic Ribbon while holding an Enigma Berry. It also knows the moves  Dark Void, Ominous Wind, Faint Attack and Nightmare while maintaining its current ability Bad Dreams.

This Darkrai is said to be given away in preparation of the upcoming TCG expansion Dark Explorers, which will feature the said Pokémon. This event will run until June 12, 2012.

Shizui’s Gym is present here boasting a three-Pokemon team in which trainers and players alike can speculate that Shizui is either the second or third Gym Leader.

Although present in current trailers, Shizui might be one of the latter half Gym Leaders for the fact that Undella Town is covered with ice sheets and is a town beside the beach.

Oh. It's summertime!

Who knows? But these ice sheets must be a surprising factor!

There are a lot of things in the trailers like the new Goons of the game, Kyurem’s two formes and their respective signature attacks, brand new characters including the new professor, Akuroma, who looks like someone from Team Plasma because of his fashion and new locations such as the underwater tunnel.

The new app for the 3DS, the Pokemon AR Searcher, is an app where you can use the 3DS’ capabilities to play AR games and capture Pokemon running around your room or outside your house. Not only that, you can transfer these Pokemon to the BW2 games and train them!

23 June 2012 is the game’s release date in Japan. Be sure to grab your copy of this game!

On April 6, I got the chance to meet someone who voiced in one episode of Pokemon Black/White.

It was Masakazu Morita, who was well-known as Tidus (Final Fantasy X), Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach), Maeda Keiji (Sengoku Basara), Barnaby Brooks Jr. (Tiger and Bunny) and the voice of Chili (Pod) of Pokemon B/W to name a few.

During his autograph sessions, me and my twin were the only ones who knew who he was from the Pokemon anime so I bought one of the cards in the porfolio that had the artwork of Chili while my sister bought the exact replica of the Tensa Zangetsu only wooden. It was our turn and I showed the card, he pointed “Oh, it’s Pod!” then signed it happily. I shook his hand after that and said “Thank you” in Japanese.

Lastly, I also got autographs from Reuben Langdon (Dante, DMC), Katsushi Ota, Atsuhiro Iwakami and Gen Urobuchi (F/Z, Madoka).

It was an exciting convention this year and hopefully there will be more Pokemon-related guests next year.

Regarding the new Pokémon, it is said that the new Pokémon will be announced in the Start Dash B2W2 booklet instead from the main magazine itself, and with that, it is possible that the new Pokémon will be related to B2W2 and might turn out as a new forme of an existing Pokémon instead. Take note that in Japan, new formes were also referred to as new Pokémon. However, it is possible that the Start Dash booklet will not only contain B2W2 information but other Pokémon information as well, so it is possible that the new Pokémon will not be related to B2W2 and that it will be a completely new Generation VI Pokémon. If it is a Generation VI Pokémon, it will be shown either on the Keldeo movie or the Meloetta short movie.

Prior to the Coro Coro announcement, some Pokémon merchandises already hinted towards a new Pokémon announcement.

In the image above, you can see a board with 5 different colored Poké Balls. It says that there are still 5 mystery Pokémon after Keldeo. Take note that this was shown even before B2W2′s announcement. So far, 4 of the 5 mystery Pokémon are already revealed:

1.) Black Kyurem
2.) White Kyurem
3.) Aria Forme Meloetta
4.) Pirouette Forme Meloetta

So that leaves one mystery Pokémon yet to be revealed. What is it? Is it a new forme of an existing Pokémon? Or a completely new Generation VI Pokémon? We will know next month. We might even get some hints, like a silhouette, before Coro Coro’s release next month so stay tune.

The games are now confirmed to be a direct sequel — set 2 years after Pokemon Black and White, and will feature new in-game characters including the protagonists, a new rival and a new set of Gym Leaders.

The story will also take place on a partially frozen Unova region with players starting their journey on a new city called “Hiougi City”

New areas will also be present and some areas will seem to be “gone” in these new games. The Unova PokeDex is said to contain 300 Pokemon in it compared to the 156 in Black and White with old Pokemon like Psyduck, Arcanine, Lapras, Eevee, Mareep, Tyranitar, Metagross, Buneary, Riolu, Lucario, and Weavile said to be included in the new Unova Dex (will there be any new Pokemon this time?).

Anyways, I was thinking of posting a “resignation” joke last night as a part of the April Fools Day celebration, but…nah. Forget it.

Let me take this opportunity to greet all of you guys, especially the original Ranger Team and all of the members who have sticked with us through out these years a Happy 6th Year Anniversary! Just to refresh everyone’s mind about the origin of this site, PKMN-ph first started out as “PKMNph” (yep, without the dash) way back in April 2, 2006 as a Yahoo! Group where the Pinoy Pokemon fans all over the Philippines and other parts of the world gathered to, well, just talk about Pokemon. And then one month later, on May 5, 2006, PKMNph became a full-blown website.

It’s amazing how time goes by so fast, a lot of things have changed since then. And now that we are on our 6th year, expect to see MORE changes.

First up, is the upcoming Ozine Fest 2012 Meetup. It’s an annual event sponsored by OtakuZine in which PKMN-ph have participated on during the past 3 years. And this year, we will still be there! See you at the SM Megamall Mega B entrance (as usual, the one which is facing the Star Mall) on April 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM! We have lots of activities planned for this day so stay tuned for more info!

And back to the “changes” discussion, the second one WILL be a MAJOR announcement. Something that I intend to announce at the upcoming OzineFest meetup (though plans may change). This has nothing to do with new games, cards or whatsoever. This announcement will be a MAJOR for some reason because it has something to do with the fate of this site. Whatever it is, I’m sure it will surprise you.
