Happy 6th Year Anniversary, PKMN-ph!
April 2nd, 2012 | Forum Discussion

It’s funny that every time this occasion comes up, I keep on forgetting it. It’s not that I’m not aware of my own community’s important dates. I dunno…must be because I’m not a part of the original Ranger team?

Anyways, I was thinking of posting a “resignation” joke last night as a part of the April Fools Day celebration, but…nah. Forget it.

Let me take this opportunity to greet all of you guys, especially the original Ranger Team and all of the members who have sticked with us through out these years a Happy 6th Year Anniversary! Just to refresh everyone’s mind about the origin of this site, PKMN-ph first started out as “PKMNph” (yep, without the dash) way back in April 2, 2006 as a Yahoo! Group where the Pinoy Pokemon fans all over the Philippines and other parts of the world gathered to, well, just talk about Pokemon. And then one month later, on May 5, 2006, PKMNph became a full-blown website.

It’s amazing how time goes by so fast, a lot of things have changed since then. And now that we are on our 6th year, expect to see MORE changes.

First up, is the upcoming Ozine Fest 2012 Meetup. It’s an annual event sponsored by OtakuZine in which PKMN-ph have participated on during the past 3 years. And this year, we will still be there! See you at the SM Megamall Mega B entrance (as usual, the one which is facing the Star Mall) on April 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM! We have lots of activities planned for this day so stay tuned for more info!

And back to the “changes” discussion, the second one WILL be a MAJOR announcement. Something that I intend to announce at the upcoming OzineFest meetup (though plans may change). This has nothing to do with new games, cards or whatsoever. This announcement will be a MAJOR for some reason because it has something to do with the fate of this site. Whatever it is, I’m sure it will surprise you.

Again, Happy 6th Year Anniversary, PKMN-ph! Let’s do our best to keep the train chugging for the next years to come! God bless you all!

B2W2 Updates (March 30, 2012): Assorted piece of information revealed; Famitsu hinting a new Pokémon will be revealed next week
March 30th, 2012 | Forum Discussion

While we still need to wait for the May 2012 issue of Coro Coro due to be released on April 14, 2012, there are now information that are popping out regarding the said games.

1.) One of the game planners of the main series Pokémon games, Toshinobu Matsumiya, has revealed some tiny but “important” pieces of information on B2W2 on his Twitter account.

a.) He confirmed that the “real” information regarding the games will be revealed around April 15, 2012, although the May 2012 issue of Coro Coro will be released on April 14, 2012 which makes it one day early, this at least confirms that major information, such as the plot, characters, etc., will be revealed on that month.

You can see his tweet here.

Translation:
“As for Pokemon Black 2 White 2, my understanding is many info will be revealed around 15 April. Hoping it will meet your high expectation.”

b.) He also confirmed that the Hoenn Region will not be included in B2W2, stating that it will be senseless to include Hoenn on the said games

You can see the tweet here.

Translation:
“As one of Pokemon fans, I feel that it’s meaningless to go Housen region in B2W2, even exclude words “Ruby Sapphire” in B2W2 title.”

2.) According to the official Japanese Pokémon website. the April 8, 2012 episode of Pokémon Smash will reveal lots of latest information regarding B2W2, meaning that we might get some early information before Coro Coro’s release, and that the Pokémon Smash’s episode this coming Sunday might have a preview of that episode.

Here’s the link for the summary of Pokémon Smash’s April 8, 2012 episode.

3.) A Hard Cover or a Crystal Case merchandise for the Nintendo 3DS with a Pokémon brand finally confirms Black Kyurem and White Kyurem’s type, height, and weight.

Black Kyurem:
Type: Dragon/Ice
Height: 3.3m
Weight: 325.0kg

White Kyurem:
Type: Dragon/Ice
Height: 3.6m
Weight: 325.0kg

Here are the links for the merchandises on Amazon Japan:

White Kyurem Merchandise.

4.) According to Famitsu, they are hinting that a new Pokémon will be revealed next week. Take note though that in japan, they also refer the new formes as new Pokémon, so it’s possible that it could only be the Pirouette Forme of Meloetta. But there’s still a possibility that instead Meloetta’s Pirouette Forme, they could reveal the single species that was said to be the origin of Reshiram, Zekrom, or Kyurem that was mentioned in BW that was populary known as the “Original Dragon”, or a completely new Pokémon, a Generation VI Pokémon, that will have a role similar to Munchlax in the Deoxys movie. It’s possibile that this might be the announcement Pokémon Smash will have this coming Sunday.

ビッグスクープ!

謎のポケモンを次号で紹介

イッシュ地方のポケモン?

詳細は待ち遠しい次号で!!

Big Scoop!

Mysterious Pokemon will be introduced in the next issue

Is it related to a Pokemon from Unova?

Only time will tell. Please read our next issue to find out!

However, with the third stanza, it seems that it’s likely to be a Generation VI Pokémon, we will know it soon anyway.

Thanks! :)

B2W2 Update (March 20, 2012): Black Kyurem and White Kyurem’s status called “Overdrive”
March 20th, 2012 | Forum Discussion

While the next major upcoming news regarding B2W2 should be on the next issue of Coro Coro this coming April of this year, we already have a little but “major” bit of information regarding the said games. The Daisuki Club had confirmed that the term described to Black Kyurem and White Kyurem’s alternate states is called “Overdrive”. It is still yet unknown if it is related or completely different to the “forme” status. The “Overdrive” status may happen when Kyurem manage to absorb Reshiram or Zekrom’s energies and emotions which will make Kyurem transform into Black Kyurem or White Kyurem respectively.

As you may remember, the Daisuki Club first revealed that Reshiram and Zekrom were Dragon-types when the former 2 were revealed worldwide for the first time during the BW phenomena back in 2010.

Thanks! :)
