The Generation V villains have been revealed. Yes. Similar to Generation I and II’s Team Rocket, Generation III’s Team Magma/Aqua, and Generation IV’s Team Galactic, this time the antagonistic group would be named as Team Plasma. “Pocket Monsters Best Wishes”

It is the 4th series of the Pokémon Anime and it will succeed the Diamond and Pearl series of the Pokémon Anime. It is based on the 5th Generation games “Pokémon Black and White” and it will be airing on Japan this fall 2010.

Apparently, before this was revealed. A screenshot of what it seems to be the beta art of the Best Wishes series of the Pokémon anime had leaked on the internet on the same day the uncomplete trailer of Pokémon Black and White was shown on Pokémon Sunday last June 27, 2010. The girl’s name on the concept art is “Iris”, it shows Ash in Black’s clothes, it shows Team Rocket, it shows a new character, and it shows four new Pokémon. When Pocket Monsters Best Wishes was revealed, it shows two silhouettes of the new characters, and one of them is one of the characters on the beta art (the girl, Iris) and the posing is exactly the same as in the beta art, so this just confirms that the beta art of the Best Wishes series of the Pokémon anime is indeed real and confirms four new Pokémon and new information about the anime such as Ash’s new clothes; Black’s clothes, girl will be present in the anime, and a new character. Just take note that the girl’s name “Iris” is not yet really official since it’s only the beta art and it may subject to change and the names of the starters on the beta art were different too so it could be their beta names before Pokémon Black and White were revealed. The new Pokémon between Iris and Jessie is called “Coromori” ( コロモリ). The 2 other new Pokémon are the evolution of Tsutarja and Mijumaru and there’s another new Pokémon on Iris’s bottom.

The first ever trailer of Pokémon Black and White.

New information:
* 8 New Pokémon were revealed on the trailer. Here are the names of 5 of the 8 new Pokémon:
1. Ononokusu (オノノクス), the mantis-like Pokémon
2. Doryuuzu (ドリュウズ), the big black mole
3. Desukaan (デスカーン), the sarcophagus-like Pokémon
4. Moguryuu (モグリュー), the baby little mole Pokémon as seen on the triple battle video
5. Denchura (デンチュラ ), the tarantula-like Pokémon which has some relation on electricity
3 of the 8 new Pokémon are still unnamed though. Moguryuu is the pre-evolution of Doryuuzu.
* Pokémon Black and White will now have Triple Battles.
* 2 new attacks were revealed. Tsutarja uses Grass Mixer (グラスミキサー) and Doryuuzu uses Drill Liner (ドリルライナー).
* Instead of “Fight”, “Run”, and “Pokémon”, there’s another option on the battle interface on the touch screen called “Shooter”. It replaces the “Bag” option. It is still unknown what it’s purpose though, but it’s likely that it will be used on Wi-Fi since you can’t use the “Bag” option on Wi-Fi battles.
* A new feature called the “White High-Link” allows you to change your player’s avatar using the internet.
* The name of the feature where you can upload your Pokémon Black or Pokemon White save file on the internet is called “Pokémon Global Link”.
* Apparently, Coro Coro stated on their website that they will have a coverage-like style of news and updates about Pokémon Black and White starting from the August 2010 issue (coming this July 15) until the November 2010 issue (coming this October 15). The August 2010 issue will contain “The Starting Document”; The September 2010 issue will contain “The Mastery Document”; the October 2010 issue will contain “The Black Document”; And the November 2010 issue will contain “The White Document” (Credits to Sabonea Masukippa of Serebii Forums for the translation).

Starting this day until the games’ release will be the critical months for Pokémon Black and White, so expect to see more and more updates as the day comes.

Picking your starter

1. The latest issue of Nintendo Dream has been released and although they’ve only showed the screenshots from the July 2010 issue of Coro Coro, they have revealed a few new information about Pokémon Black and White. One of this is a new screenshot showing Zorua and Zoroark’s nature and stats, and the screenshot confirms that the Red and Blue-colored font on the stats which states the Pokémon’s strengths and weakness which debuted on Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver still remains in Pokémon Black and White. Another new information is the further explanation of Zorua and Zoroark’s ability, “Illusion“. We know that Zorua and Zoroark will transform into another Pokemon when sent into battle, as seen in previous screenshots and videos. However, that’s all we have known about the ability. Nintendo Dream had now explained this ability. It stated that Zorua and Zoroark will transform into the Pokemon on the player’s second part of his party Pokemon immediately right after you send them out in a battle. Example of this is if you have Kyogre in the second part of your party Pokemon, Zorua and Zoroark will transform into Kyogre immediately when sent out in a battle. As said on the previous information. they will retain their type, the “Dark-type“, when they transform; However, their name and appearance (and possibly attacks) will change.

2. Tsutaya stores in Japan released a DVD that is to be rented for free about the making of the thirteenth movie of Pokémon; “The Ruler Of Illusions; Zoroark“. However, that’s not the only contents of it. It also has some new screenshots on Pokémon Black and White. It features the crew of Pokémon Sunday watching the games’ gameplay. 3. And last but not the least, in an unexpected moment, the June 27, 2010 episode of Pokémon Sunday more new information about the games, including the revelation of the games’ release date in Japan, and the incomplete but first ever trailer of Pokémon Black and White showing new characters.

New Information:
* Pokémon Black and White’s release date on Japan is confirmed to be on “September 18, 2010“.
* The trailer shows a person with a long hair and a glasses holding something, he/she could be the main antagonist or the leader of the evil organization on the games.
* On the VS scene, it says “Black VS. Cheren”. Therefore, this confirms that the boy protagonist’s name is called “Black“, and the other one, possibly a Gym Leader or another sort of a trainer, is called “Cheren“.
* A person with a hat states that “I will overcome the champion”, so he/she could possibly be the rival on the games or another NPC.
* The trailer shows a roller coaster. It could be one of the carnival minigames. The carnival can be clearly seen on the map of the Isshu region.

New Information:
* Pokémon Black and White would be able to connect to the internet. Players can upload their save file to the internet and be able to play online.

*On the menu on the C-Gear, it shows that there are three methods of communication; Wireless, WiFi and IR (InfaRed) and you can use this three with the C-Gear. These options are shown in the battle menu so it will be able to tell when you are battling in any of those three. These options are running while you’re in actual gameplay.

*Like in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, you can register multiple key items using the DS’s Y button and on the touch screen.

*As reported days ago, the battle interface on the touch screen has changed, now having a “weather indicator” which shows the current weather. It also shows the current time.

* There is a machine called the Pokémon Transfer Machine (転送マシンでポケモン) which is the method of transferring Pokémon from your 4th Generation games (Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver versions) to your 5th Generation games (Pokémon Black and White versions). This is to be done over the standard local wireless and it appears that you can transfer Pokémon only one at a time.

* Once Pokémon Black and White are released, there will be a special website that allows you to upload your save file so that you can play Pokémon Black and White on the internet. Once you’re done playing on the internet, you can send the save file back to your DS to continue playing your game. It is still unknown if it has limitations, or if you can still play the games full while the save file is on the internet.

Information and translations on the Japanese website of Pokémon Black and White:
-Reshiram’s page says “It spurts out flame and burns the surrounds completely. It is said that this heat moves the Earth’s atmosphere.”
-Zekrom’s page says “It is told that the generator in its body creates electricity as it hides in thunder clouds and flies through the sky above the Isshu Region.”
-Down the bottom of the page there are four boxes that say “Coming Soon”. These are “Special Movies” that they intend to release “one after the other”.
-Translation of the first story page’s text (the one with the map):
“In the Isshu Region, the setting for this game, is dotted with the centre of business, Hiun City, various towns and institutions and in the centre you can confirm an Area with an odd outward appearance.
In this Region, where the Pokemon that have been discovered in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are hardly seen, there are new Pokemon and people waiting to meet you.”

E3 2010 will now start tomorrow, and they might show a gameplay of Pokémon Black and White on Nintendo’s booth at the said event, so let’s see if they will show one. They will also show and reveal more information about the upcoming new console of Nintendo; the “Nintendo 3DS”.

* The new female professor is called Professor Araragi and she has a Chiramii at the beginning of the game. She is also the first female professor on the main series Pokémon games.

* There’s a new feature called C Gear which you can play with various connection capabilities.

* There’s a new feature which is called Random Match which you can access from the Global Terminal inside the the Pokémon Centers. Here, you can play freely with people from all over the country in random match mode by using Wi-Fi and that on spring 2011, foreign players can join too. It then says that you can work together over the internet by uploading your save file for Black and White to play that way. This also confirms that the Global Terminal will now be located inside of the Pokémon Center.

* The scans showed the artwork of the Isshu Region Pokédex. They’ve also showed the map of the Isshu Region. They’ve also showed the new battle interface.

* New information regarding Reshiram and Zekrom had surfaced.
– Reshiram is the White Yang Pokémon. Its type are Dragon-type and Fire-type. Its height is 3.2m and its weight is 330kg. It has a new ability called Turbo Blaze (ターボブレイズ).
– Zekrom is the Black Yin Pokémon Its type are Dragon-type and Electric-type, just like what Shokotan accidentally stated in her blog before removing it. Its height is 2.9m and its weight is 345kg. It has a new ability called Terra Voltage (テラボルテージ).

* In order to get Zorua on Pokémon Black and White, you will need to transfer the Movie 13 Celebi which will be distibuted on Japan in commemoration of the thirteenth movie of Pokémon “Ruler Of Illusions: Zoroark” from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver to Pokémon Black and White. The Movie 13 Celebi is also known to trigger the Ilex Forest Giovanni event in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, meaning that this Celebi will trigger two different events on two different main series games. This Zorua will be caught at Level 10 and its gender is Male. Aside from Trickery, Zorua will also learn the moves Leer, Scratch, Pursuit, and Fake Tears. Also, on the scan with Celebi and Zorua, it showed that Celebi is seen beside the player, and Zorua is seen beside another trainer. This probably confirms that your Pokémon will walk with you again like in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

* Aside from Claw Sharpen, Zoroark will also learn the moves Fury Swipes, Faint Attack, Scary Face, Taunt, and a new attack; Night Burst (ナイトバ-スト)- is a move it learns at a really high level. If it is successful, the oppenent is only able to attack (ie it cannot use a non-damaging move is what I think they’re saying). * The scans also stated that Zorua and Zoroark will not appear in regular gameplay (which make sense since you can only encounter Zorua and Zoroark on Pokémon Black and White by transferring the Crown Raikou, Crown Entei, Crown Suicune, and Movie 13 Celebi from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver to Pokémon Black and White {Credits to Sabonea Masukippa of Serebiiforums for the information and translation}).

Don’t be confused on the “April 11, 2011″ date there as the release date of the said games, it’s just a placeholder date as of now until the real release date will be announce.

3. It seems that Nintendo will show something about Pokémon Black and White on their booth at E3.

Aside from their special guests Sukima Switch, the singers of the theme song of the thirteenth movie of Pokémon, This week’s Pokémon Sunday, June 13, 2010, stated that they will reveal more new Pokémon, although it is likely that they will reveal all the information from the July 2010 issue of Coro-Coro.

The new Legendaries are called Reshiram  (レシラム) and Zekrom (ゼクロム).

The official Japanese boxart cover of Pokémon Black and White.

Their names will also be their US and Europe names. Both Pokemon.com and Pokemon.co.jp have updated their sites reflecting this update. The US names of the games will be called Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version just like in the Japanese games. It was also stated that the games will come out on September 2010 in Japan and Spring 2011 in USA, other than this no other detail is provided. However the website has stated that Reshiram and Zekrom will have a strong connection to the history of the Isshu Region and that they will be the keys to the games’ story. Perhaps, we will see more information in Coro Coro’s next issue, which have been said to reveal new Pokemon this June 15.

In addition to that, the Japanese Pokémon Black and White website have also released new gameplay footages of the said games. The contents of it are the starters in a battle and the player walking in Hiun City.

EDIT: The Pokemon Daisuki Club have confirmed that Reshiram and Zekrom are part Dragon-type. It is unknown though if they will be pure Dragon-type or if they will have a secondary type. Also, the 2 games will have more differences aside from the version exclusives. It can be the storyline or the evil teams, what is it is yet unknown as of now. Maybe they will be revealed on the July 2010 issue of Coro-Coro that is to be released on June 15, 2010 but might leak between June 10-June 14, 2010.

Also, the official website of Coro-Coro has updated their Pokemon section with the legendaries.
